On August 12th, 2024, the Department of BCA and BMS conducted an Anti-Ragging Day awareness program aimed at first-year BCA and BMS students. The event, which marked the beginning of Anti-Ragging Week (August 12th-18th), was conducted in the Central Block to educate students about the severe consequences of ragging and promote a culture of respect and safety on campus.
The presentation, delivered by Krishna Kripa, first-year student from the BCA department, covered key topics such as the definition and various forms of ragging, the legal framework surrounding anti-ragging laws, and the psychological impact on victims. The session also provided crucial information on how students can report incidents of ragging within the campus, emphasizing the importance of prompt reporting and the support systems available.
The event successfully engaged the audience, fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of creating a ragging-free environment. By the end of the session, first-year students were more informed about the consequences of ragging and the steps they can take to prevent and report it, reinforcing the college’s commitment to a safe and supportive academic community.
