Message from HOD

Started in the year 2013 with two faculties and 36 students. Today when women have scaled new frontiers in education, the commerce department has a prime place in St.Teresa’s college in terms of both student strength and faculty size. Currently, the department has 16 faculties and 495 students.

The Department of Commerce (SF) has recorded a consistent improvement in its academic, and placement performance. It offers a range of innovative programs whose curricula are constantly updated to meet the changing requirement of the industry and also to meet the needs of major stakeholders. We believe that our students have been well accepted in their job profiles and have consistently exceeded expectations of the corporate world. During study at the department, the students get hands-on experience in the corporate world through internship projects with reputed organizations which enable them to understand the relevance of working in a group and also help them to realize the finer aspects and importance of teamwork.

We also encourage students to organize events such as Inspiro 2017, and Emporium 2016 (Inter-collegiate Commerce festival), participate in management events organized by other colleges, and also in activities of social relevance.

With all these inputs one finds our students hardworking, practical-oriented and effective in any work environment. We have designed our syllabus to strike a balance between professional knowledge and personal skills. We are confident that our current curriculum has enabled the overall development of budding managers to come up to the expectations of the corporate world. Academic excellence and real world experience combined with dedication and commitment.

With this brief introduction, I welcome you to be a part of our journey towards being a center of excellence in education and training.

Smt. Jini Justin D'Costa, Head of Department, Department of Commerce (SF)
