- As a part of the first activity of Teresian Rural Outreach Programme (TROP) for the academic
year 2019-20 and in order to sanctify World Environmental Day observed on June 5 every year,
a guava sapling was planted in St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Vallarpadam located in the
outskirts of the city, on 14 June, 2019. A small group consisting of two students—Kadeeja Ferin
Ismail V and Fiza Ziyad and a faculty Ms. Chaithanya V—all belonging to the Department of
Communicative English, St Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, participated in the activity. The faculty
and students of the school were extremely cordial and helpful and the sapling was planted in a
ground next to the school compound, assigned exclusively for vegetation purposes by the school
authority. Besides, as a token of gratitude, the school authority gifted a sapling form its herbal
garden to the College.
