AIM: To improve the communication skills of the students

NEED OF THE PLACE: To improve vocabulary, pronunciation and speaking skills of the students in English.

OBJECTIVE: To teach basic usage of English and also to improve their vocabulary and pronunciation

REPORT:

As part of Teresian Rural Outreach Programme, The Department of Communicative English has been allotted Infant Jesus Convent, Kurisingal Parish in Vypeen. This is an ancient Christian Church built in 1573 in old Portuguese style. Ms Geethu Johny is the faculty in charge of TROP for the year 2013-14. LTGLPS, Ochanthuruth under Kurisingal Parish has been allotted to the department.

As part of TROP the I DC Communicative English students were entrusted with the duty to visit LTGLPS on the 16th and 17th of January 2014 to conduct a two-day workshop where they could enhance the communication skills of the students in the school. Principal Sr. Naveena of LTGLPS assigned classes 1-7 to the 36 students from our college. 36 students were divided into groups of 9 and were allotted a class each. They were accompanied by four teachers- Ms. Saumya John, Ms. Geethu Johny, Ms. Ammu Rajeev and Ms. Ann Mary Thomas.
