Activity Description (100  – 200  words):

The Department of Chemistry, ST. Teresa’s College, Ernakulum  organized an orientation programme on latest library & information resources for the students of II, III DC & I PG Chemistry  on 17 th June 2021 at 2 P.M.  through Google meet platform with the objective to create awareness about reference management & plagiarism checking softwares and to popularize digital learning platforms like e-PG Pathshala, Vidya-mitra etc.

The resource person for the webinar was Sr.Divina Rosiline D’Silva (Librarian St.Teresa’s college, Ernakulam). The convenor of the programme Dr. Nisha N, faculty member of the college, officially welcomed everyone and introduced the recourse person. The Resource person then took over and started the online session.  She described the use of reference management software Zotero. She explained in detail how to collect, organize and cite research using this open source reference management software. She added that these software would be of great help in their future studies. She also talked in detail about plagiarism checking softwares and e-learning resources like e-PG Pathshala, Vidya-mitra, and national digital library. The session ended with a round of discussion. Vote of thanks was then proposed by Ms. Mishma Simon, PG student. The session officially ended at 3:10 PM. The webinar was attended by a total of 63 students.
