The Department of Commerce (SF) in association with ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)’ had organised a leadership talk on the Legal aspects of start-ups and financial discipline on 19th June 2021, through Google Meet. The speakers of the day was Mr. Krishna Mohan K Menon and Mr. Renjith R Warrier.
The session had begun with Krishna Mohan sir enlightening us about the cooperative society and different types of structures and partnerships such as limited liability partnership where security and immunity is ensured. He mentioned about how it’s always better to comply with the law, and how ideas cannot be protected, but if a product has to be protected then it needs to be patented. Another aspect discussed was dispute and how to handle it according to the arbitration act, which involves hiring a private judge.
