In connection with the National Statistics Day celebration, the department of mathematics and statistics of St. Teresa’s college (Autonomous), Ernakulam, conducted a webinar on the topic “The role of Statistics in Research and National Development” on 29th June 2021. Dr. K. Muralidaran explained about various statistical tools and methods that can be applied to the daily life problems and introduced various industries that mainly depends on these statistical tools. He recalled the importance of statistics in good decision making and how it supports our government to identify the best course of action. He also discussed about different career opportunities in statistics.
