On 14th November,2020 Department of Mathematics and Statistics ,St. Teresa’s College  conducted alumni meet,2020-“HEARTS AND FLOWERS”. The alumnae meet commenced at 4:00pm by seeking the blessings of the God almighty. Alumnae report of 2019-2020 was read by  Smt.Donna Pinheiro .Distribution of Rev.Sr. Christabelle Memorial Meritorious Alumnae Award certificates and felicitation of the achievers was done by Dr. Susan Mathew Panakkal. Project  “Inme-Incubation Unit of Math Entrepreneurs” was introduced by Dr.Ursala Paul during the  meet. She mentioned about the the first venture of InMe – one to one online tuition platform for students of Std 1-12. Congratulating successful women entrepreneurs who are the alumnae of the  department on 19th November as part of the Women Entrepreneurship day was also discussed. Discussion on “Preparation for Centenary Celebrations” was held headed by Smt.Betty Joseph .Miss. Mesly Mathews hinted about platforms like Chegg India where students can seek for part  time jobs based on mathematics .Miss.Reshmy Menon talked about the importance of workshop and,seminars to increase the exposure and research knowledge of students out of the text book  .She also talked about the current importance to trigger an idea about statistics and data analysis among the students. Miss. Riyana Sreedaran said that it would be great to include workshops talking about all kinds of fields other than mathematics. Alumnae scholarship was awarded for a  total of 12 deserving students. Various cultural events were also performed by the students.The  meet concluded by 5:45pm

Outcome of the activity:  

All our alumnae achievers were congratulated. A lot of ideas for “InMe” projects and centenary celebrations were welcomed. The interactive discussion session was really useful. The teachers  and their old students had a very good time cherishing the memories of old college days.
