On the 12th of April, The French department received Ms Avani Awasthee for a Green Talk. The event was organized in collaboration with NSS Unit 41, Soroptimist International Kochi and WDW.

Ms Avani Aswathee is an environmental crusader and the youngest Indian to reach Antarctica. She is also a Karmaveer Chakra Awardee and a Campaign Ambassador.

For that special occasion, students and teachers gathered to witness an inspirational programme about the environment and raise awareness about climate change.

Ms Avani shared her journey to Antarctica and explained how people can follow their dream along with doing good for the environment. She interacted with everyone asking for instance:

“What is the role of the government in protecting the environment?”

She explained the important role of the government in the protection of the environment but also reminded us that we have to take our part in it. This is our future and we need to protect it too, or as she said “I don’t want to protect the environment, I want to create a world where environment doesn’t need protection.”

Ms Awani Awasthee inspired us all by sharing her journey and thoughts about the environment, and telling how we can protect it while we chase our dreams.

Follow your dream, and do it in an eco-friendly manner, both are compatible.
