Teresian Instrumentation and Consultancy Centre, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam organized a 5-day training program titled “Foundations of Microbial Mastery – A basic training in Microbiology” from 18th December 2023 to 22nd December 2023. 

The program, designed for postgraduate students of the Department of Botany, aimed to provide a comprehensive learning experience by integrating theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical sessions. 

The curriculum of the training program was thoughtfully structured to encompass essential topics within the realm of microbiology. These included a thorough understanding of laboratory safety protocols, comprehensive insights into sterilization methods, an exploration of basic instruments utilized in microbiology laboratories, and skill development in the vital domains of culture media preparation, serial dilution techniques, standard plate count procedures, and diverse culturing methods for Bacteria.
