The consultative workshop was jointly organised by the Institute of Land and Disaster Management, Government of Kerala and Teresian International at the ILDM campus in Thiruvanthapuram. The Presidential address was rendered by Sri P. Thomas I.A.S (Rtd) Director ILDM and the inaugural address by Dr.MridulEapen, Member-Planning Board.  Dr.NirmalaPadmanabhan, the Principal Investigator of the project ‘Evaluation of the Kerala Model Relief Centres: Integrating a gender sensitive disaster management” presented the interim report. This project is joint research project undertaken by S. Teresa’s College, Sophia University, Japan, Manchester Metropolitan University and University of Essex- UK. Discussion and suggestions from invited participants was taken and the session was moderated by Dr.ShobaArun, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.
