Students from Bhavan’s Adarsha Vidyalaya successfully completed a school-level research project at the Teresian Instrumentation and Consultancy Centre (TICC), St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, as part of their academic curriculum. The project focused on evaluating the antibacterial efficacy of selected fruit samples against various bacterial species, with the objective of exploring the natural antimicrobial properties present in commonly consumed fruits.

During the course of the project, the students received hands-on training in fundamental microbiological techniques and laboratory practices. They actively participated in media preparation, bacterial inoculation, microbial culturing, antibacterial activity assays, and monitoring of microbial growth. The students were also introduced to the operation and applications of essential microbiology laboratory instruments, including autoclaves, incubators, laminar airflow chambers, and digital colony counters. The project provided valuable practical exposure to scientific research methodologies and enhanced the students’ understanding of microbiology and laboratory-based investigations.
