In relation with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Month and National Women’s Health and Fitness Day (Sept. 25), Community college and PTA of St.Teresa’s College jointly organized a women’s health camp by associating with Aster Medcity, Cheranalloor on 3rd October 2019. The camp focused more on the health problems of women, mainly PCOD, PCOS, Ovarian Cyst, Menstrual problems, lifestyle diseases, Cancer  etc. The program commenced with a prayer song by Smt. Mary Sruthy Melbin, Asst.Prof, Dept. of Commerce, Welcome by PTA Vice President Shri.Chandrasekharan P, Keynote Address and inauguration by Dr. A. Durgapoorna, (Consultant, Radiation Oncology, Aster Medcity), Felicitation by Dr.Usha Nair (IQAC Coordinator & Asso. Prof. in Hindi, STC) and Vote of Thanks by PTA Executive Committee member Sri.Mohandas P.K .

The students of first year degree students of Arts and Science stream participated in the program. Dr. A. Durgapoorna, (Consultant, Radiation Oncology), Dr.Vinitha Riju, Associate specialist in Medical Oncolgy and Dr.Surya Jayaram, Senior Specialist, Gynaecology of Aster Medcity delivered valuable lectures on general health  topics related to adolescent girls and women. The topics dealt were “Modern lifestyle diseases” among women, “Women and general health”, and “Women health & health of family and society, “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” and “Menopause”.

In addition to the talks delivered, the college authorities also organized screening and counseling session for the students and staff of the institution. This program was extremely useful and interactive to all participated students and culminated by 4pm.
