Need of the Activity: Promote healthy living by encouraging use of self-grown leafy vegetables.
Brief Description: An online training and consultancy service was given to kudumbasree, SHG’s and local farmers. A video tutorial of microgreen farming, their nutritional value, benefits, and tips on efficient etc was created and it was shared among them. This programme gave awareness about microgreen farming at home and its importance in a balanced diet
Outcome: Encourage use of self-grown leaves and better nutritional benefits

Need of the Activity: Sustainable utilisation of cultivable land of the Panchayath. The Department of Botany has identified Ayurvedic companies who have agreed to extend a Backward Integration Project for buy back of raw materials of medicinal plants. The department will be capacity building partners providing technical expertise in cultivation practices, seed/ seedling distribution, quality assurance and facilitation of the products.
Outcome: Sustainable utilisation of cultivable land of the Panchayath. Enhance the livelihood of the people and bridge the gap between demand and supply of high quality raw materials for Ayurvedic companies.
