A workshop on Translation Studies, “Traversing Borders”, by Catherine Thankamma was conducted  on 1 February 2017. The session was headed by Dr. Catherine Thankamma, Professor, Critic, Writer and Translator. She spoke about how translation is seen as a cultural strategy that mirrors and sometimes subverts existing socio cultural norms and practices. By explaining the methodology, purpose and necessity of literary translation she initiated the students into this field. The students actively participated in translating two works from Malayalam.
