The Teresian Association of Psychology Students (TAPS) began with the objective of helping students develop a set of practical skills that extend beyond theoretical knowledge.
The Teresian Association of Psychology Students (TAPS) for the academic year 2019-20 was inaugurated on Friday 21 June 2019 by Dr Poornima Sunder, Consultant Psychiatrist from Mahec Foundation. The program began with a prayer song by the department choir. Asst. Prof Taniya Thomas, President of TAPS (2019-20) welcomed the Chief Guest Dr Poornima Sunder, faculty and students. Ms Grace Mary J, Secretary, TAPS (2018-19) presented the Annual Report highlighting the activities and achievements of TAPS from the previous academic year.
Dr Poornima Sunder lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated TAPS 2019-20. She addressed the students and spoke at length about the activities of Mahec Foundation which delivers holistic and integrated mental health care for palliative patients. Dr Poornima spoke about the road blocks faced by mental health workers and stressed the need for more trained professionals to meet the rising demand in the area of mental health services. This was followed by the Induction Ceremony where the new office bearers of TAPS was inducted by Dr Poonima Sunder. The following were elected as Office Bearers of TAPS 2019-20

Asst. Prof Bindu John, HOD felicitated the new Office Bearers and the gathering. The Vote of Thanks was given by Ms Dineesha Georgeena Rajan, Joint Secretary of TAPS (2018-19). A memento from Chendamangalam handloom was presented to Dr Poornima Sunder as a token of appreciation by the members of TAPS as well as to support the Chendamangalam weavers whose livelihoods were ruined in the floods of 2018.
