The department of Chemistry organised a seminar on “Microplastics in aquatic environment: challenges and perspectives” for the students. on June 19, 2024. Dr. Anu Gopinath, Professor Head of the Department of Aquatic Environment Management at Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean studies- KUFOS was the resource person. 90 participants including students and faculty of the department attended the seminar, which was held in the AV Room of Science Block. Dr. Anu Gopinath elaborated on the dangers of mismanagement of plastic use which has led to the accumulation of microplastics even in arctic and Antarctic regions.
