Into its 6th edition this year, Panache the annual literary fest gained a greater momentum as it transformed itself into a literary cum socio-cultural venture of our department. A social segment was added to it called the Students’ Social Responsibility (SSR). This year under the SSR Scheme, the undergraduate students undertook a project to create awareness about Domestic Violence and Marital Rape. A Symposium was conducted on the 12th of August, 2016. The Honourable Mayor Smt. Soumini Jain, Major Ravi ( Ex-Armyman and filmmaker), Adv. Sandhya Raju(insert description), Smt. Tanya Abraham ( curator at Kashi Art Gallery), Ms Jyothi Narayanan(description) and Ms T N Seema ( social activist and former Rajya Sabha member) were the dignitaries of the day who spoke on the gender sensitization topic. Our undergraduate students also did a flash mob at Oberon Mall to spread awareness about the SSR cause.
