UGC SPONSORED NATIONAL SEMINAR ON”ADVANCEMENTS IN POLYMER SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY’

Ann Mary V B, Mitchell M Beveira and Aiswarya C Bansidhar of  3^rd DC Zoology won the FIRST prize in UG/PG category of  UGC Sponsored National Seminar on ‘Advancements in Polymer Science and Technology‘ conducted by Post Graduate Department of Chemistry on 24^th and 25^th January 2017, in association with Department of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology, CUSAT  for  poster presentation on the topic, “Green Synthesis and Study of Silver Nano particles with Special reference to antimicrobial activities and conductivity study of PANI / Ag Nano composites’ .

GENYSYS 2017 AT SACRED HEART COLLEGE, THEVARA

The students from the Department of Zoology participated in GENYSYS – 2017, an intercollegiate zoology fest hosted by Department of Zoology, Sacred Heart College, Thevara on 20^th January, 2017. The competitions conducted were Treasure Hunt, Quiz, Poster Designing, PPT Presentation and Photography. Various students won prizes for different competitions. Rolbi Merlin from III DC and Liz Moylan from II DC won the 3^rd prize for Quiz and Rhea Thoppil and Greetta James from III DC won the 2^nd prize for Treasure Hunt with a cash prize of Rs 1000. Athira Menon and Sreenanda B from I DC won the 2^nd prize for Poster Designing and Jayashree S from I PG won the 2^nd prize for Photography with a cash prize of Rs 1000. For the PPT Presentation competition, Shrishti K and Athira Mathew from I DC won the 2^nd prize and Merin Verghese and Amala Rose Jose from II PG and Pooja Lakshmi and Parvathy R from I PG shared the 3^rd prize. Owing to the amount of prizes won by the students, the Department also bagged the Fr. Gabriel Chiramel CMI ever rolling trophy given by the Department of Zoology, Sacred Heart College, and Thevara.

REV.FR.JACOB KARIYATTY MEMORIAL DEBATE COMPETITION

Parvathy R and Pooja Lakshmi Nair of 1st PG Zoology won the FIRST Prize in the intercollegiate Debate for Rev. Fr. Jacob Kariyatty Memorial Ever Rolling Trophy conducted in Bharata Mata College  on 9th December 2016.

Athira Menon T of I DC Zoology has won FIRST Prize in the Poster Designing competition conducted by, the Department of Zoology, Cochin College, in association with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE),  on 29 th  September 2016.

Sreelakshmi Ananad P B of I DC Zoology has won THIRD Power Point Presentation competition conducted by, the Department of Zoology, Cochin College, in association with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE),  on 29 th  September 2016.

Merin Verghese of II PG Zoology has won FIRST Prize in the Elocution (English) competition conducted by, the Department of Zoology, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, in connection with the International Day for Preservation of Ozone Layer – 2016 Celebrations, supported by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment (KSCSTE),  on 22nd  September 2016.
