The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College, (Autonomous) Ernakulam, and Aster Medcity, as part of Aster community Connect signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 24th November, Wednesday at 11. 30 a.m. The Memorandum of Understanding seals a collaboration between the two institutions for extension and outreach activities. The Memorandum of Understanding between Aster Medcity and the Department of Psychology aims to provide free mental health counseling to the general public and internship opportunities to the post-graduate students of Psychology. Along with undertaking community projects to benefit the mental health of stakeholders and the general community through the Kudumbashree units under Cochin Corporation, the Memorandum of Understanding also outlines a collaborative effort to build on knowledge and learning.
The MoU signing ceremony was presided by Dr. Lizzy Mathew, Principal, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam. Ms. Ambili Vijayaraghavan, CEO, Aster Medcity inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp and delivering the inaugural address stressing the importance of mental health and the synergy created by collaborative efforts between institutions. The Memorandum Of Understanding was signed by Ms. Bindu John, Head of the Department, and Ms. Ambili Vijayaraghavan, CEO, Aster Medcity in the presence of Dr. Lizzy Mathew, Principal, St, Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, Dr. T.R. John, Senior Consultant, Director of Medical Administration, Aster Medcity, dignitaries, faculty members and student community.
Dr T R John gave the Keynote Address followed by the felicitation of Mrs. Nina Nayar, President, Rotary Club of Cochin Milan.
