On December 14, 2023, the Department of Psychology organized a session on Case History Taking for the PG 1 students. Dr. Gokul T Priyan, an esteemed RCI licensed Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Ernakulam, expertly led the session.

Dr. Gokul emphasized the importance of correctly documenting clinical cases and introduced the NIMHANS clinical case history-taking format in detail to the PG 1 students. He provided valuable insights into the significance of establishing rapport with patients and presented a comprehensive overview of the dos and don’ts in Case History taking.

Outcome: The session proved instrumental in providing PG students with a clear understanding of Case History Taking, a skill crucial for their upcoming internship in a Clinical Psychology setting. The knowledge gained during this program is expected to greatly benefit the students in their practical application of clinical psychology.
