On the 18.03.2024, the French Department, along with Yuva Tourism club, India Tourism Kochi and Travel for life, organized a seminar on Women and Travel.

The seminar started off with a prayer song followed by a welcome speech by YTC member, Ms. Azna Fathima.

The seminar was conducted to commemorate women’s day and to empower the female students & staff of St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam.

Inaugural ceremony was conducted where Smt. Sabeena Bhaskar, the HOD of the French department
inaugurated and presidential address was conveyed by the Assistant Director of Indiatourism
Kochi, Shri. M. Narendran.

Three sessions were conducted by three exceptional women. The Chairperson Kerala Chapter TAAI, Smt. Mariyamma Jose motivated the audience with her own story of perseverance and spoke on the topic ‘Women And Travel’.

The second session was by Capt. Dr. Seleena K. V., a faculty of St. Teresa’s College who inspired each person in the audience with her topic ‘Never let your memories be greater than your dreams’.

The third and final session was by Dr. Ambily Ravindran Nair who is an acclaimed Bio Medical Scientist and explained the nooks and crannies of Solo Travelling from her own experience and her topic was
titled ‘Growing Wings – Women And Solo Travel’.

The informational session thus concluded with an award ceremony and the cultural programmes begun with two stunning performances, one of which was a bharatanatyam performance from the Department of Bharatanatyam and a cinematic dance from the Department of French.

Ms Reshmi Joseph Assistant Professor and Yuva Tourism Club Faculty Cordinator proposed vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants from various colleges. The seminar was concluded by the distribution of certificates and serving of refreshments to all participants who have attended.
