The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), organized a seminar on the topic ‘Common Urological Problems in Women ’ on the 21st of  December 2022, in collaboration with Aster Medicity, Kochi. The program was held as part of the MoU signed with Aster Medicity to collaborate mutually for learning, research, and knowledge exchange opportunities.

The resource person of the program was Dr. Jeni Elizabeth Mathew, Senior Specialist in Urology. She has over two years of experience in the field of Urology. She has completed her MBBS, M.S from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and her McH in Urology from PGIMER. She talked about the different problems that women face like urinary tract infections and uterine prolapse. She talked about the possible causes of these infections and the treatment options for them. The seminar was attended by students and faculty of the Psychology department. Her session helped the participants become aware of what symptoms to look out for and identify the problem and to pursue treatment options.

The program helped create awareness among the participants of the signs and symptoms of common urological problems, and how to manage them and seek treatment.
