The Department of Fashion Designing took part in the science exhibition ‘Scientia’ organized by St. Teresa’s College on October 5th and 6th. Three rooms were taken to display the beautiful fashion pieces created by the students. The art lab focused on miniature forms of art illustrations, paintings and drawings, embroidery works, and sewing machines and also included many mannequins wearing a variety of colorful sarees such as Kanchipuram, Chikankari, Kalamkari, etc.

On the first day, students from 7 schools attended the exhibition including 20 students from TD Mattanchery and 20 students from St. Antony’s School. The students were impressed by the exhibits, illustrations, and drawings. The following schools included Don Bosco Senior Secondary School with 23 students, 30 students from St. Johns Britto, 9 students from Delta School, and 36 students from Dawn International. The students were captivated by the vivid portrayal of Punjabi life, highlighted by a stunning wedding ceremony. They were impressed by the enchanting display of Rajasthan’s cultural richness, especially the puppet show. Art and cultural displays at the exhibition seemed to have left a lasting impact on the students and they were visibly moved by the artistic exhibits, which ranged from vibrant illustrations to intricate drawings and embroidery work by the students.

On the second day 72 students from St. Joseph’s public school visited the department 50 students from St. Joseph’s School Thrikakkara, 11 students from Govt HSS, Edapally, and 30 students from Model Technic High School came in next. 25 students from Panagad AHSS, 25 students from Rani Matha school, 49 students from Matha Nagar Public School, and 13 students from RPM HSS were the last few schools to attend Scientia 2023.
