12 NSS volunteers along with NSS Programme Officer, Smt. Susan Cherian, attended the seminar on ‘Safety and Related Issues of Women and Children in Public Transport’ organised by Kochi City Police and Women Cell, on 22.06.13 at City West Traffic Conference Hall, Ernakulam. Students actively participated in the discussion and presented at the function, the problems faced by them during bus travel, namely the rude behaviour of bus conductor to concession ticket holders and misbehaviour of the staff towards girl students. Shri. V.M Muhammad Rafique, Deputy Commissioner of Police in his return speech, he promised to mitigate the sufferings of the students by proper law enforcement.
