The Department of Mathematics and Statistics organised an Orientation Programme for Project preparation named ‘ Research Ventures ‘ led by the resource person Mr Arun J. Manattu – Research Scholar, Dept of Mathematics, CUSAT. The welcome speech was given by Ms Ann Hendrita of 3rd Maths A .The programme focused on the different topics needed for the final year project and various higher study options which can be opted for by a student who has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics all over India. He also spoke about how to approach a specific topic with dedication by sharing his own life experiences. Along with it, Mr Arun also familiarised the students with various entrance exams that can be written to get into these master’s degrees and gave recommendations on the top institutes to choose from. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms Josna Joseph of 3rd Maths A .

Outcome of the activity:
● The students got to know the vast higher study options to choose from after their graduation in mathematics.
● They were familiarised with various entrance exams they had to take for being eligible for higher studies.
● Students got to know more about the topics needed for doing their final year project.
