On June 23rd, the Department of English and Centre for Research organised activities for the kindergarten students of St. Teresa’s Nursery, Ernakulam, as part of the Reading week. The students of III UG participated in the event aimed to introduce young readers to the world of stories and rhymes. The program took place from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM.

The session began with the storytelling of the classic fable, “The Lion and the Mouse.” Following the storytelling session, the children recited two popular rhymes, “Baa Baa Black Sheep” and “Old McDonald Had a Farm.”

The English association undertook the initiative to foster a love for reading among young students and introduce them to the power of storytelling and rhymes. The activities grabbed the interest of the kindergarteners. They were involved in reciting the rhymes, and showed keen interest in the story. The students reciprocated in the interactive session after the reading week activities.
