The students of the Department of Psychology performed in the Raavolam – Night Walk program hosted by Ernakulam District Women and Child Development Department, and Mahila Shakti Kendra on 13th December 2021 at Darbar Ground, Ernakulam. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Kumar, Mayor, Cochin Corporation, MLA Shri T.J. Vinod, Shri Jaffer Malik IAS, District Collector, and Ms. Aishwarya Dongre IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Kochi city.

The second and third-year B.Sc Psychology students took part in the program and displayed a theme-based fashion show and dance drama to highlight the issue of abuse and violence against women.

The Women and Child Development department arrange night walk programs every year to make public spaces safe for women following the Nirbhaya incident in Dec 2016. The Janamaithri police, Kudumbasree, and the representatives of various women’s organizations joined to make this program a success. The program was witnessed by members of the general public and made a meaningful impact on the gathered.
