The Department of Management Studies and BCA (Cloud Technology and
Information Security Management), in association with Beyond Classroom,
organised an intensive and hands on Placement Training Session for the outgoing
batch, starting from September 2, 2019. The sessions were conducted in the
Central Block of St. Teresa’s College. The resource person was Mr. Dipu Jojo,
founder of Beyond Classroom and Global Marketing Manager and Digital
Communication Manager at ABB.
Through his sessions, he gave us an insight on how things work in the corporate
world, and prepared us to face challenges that we would have to overcome once
we started working. Highlights of the training session were hands on practice in
group discussion and public speaking, fine tuning of verbal and non-verbal
communication and business etiquette, personalised guidance in resume
preparation and Online and Offline job searching techniques. The sessions are
spread over the months of September and October and conclude with a mock
placement drive, which includes an aptitude test, group discussion, personal
interview and a reward for the top three performers.
Mr Jojo, a communication professional with over 14 years of experience in this
area, conducted interactive and engaging sessions that encouraged us to move
out of our comfort zone. He motivated us to read and form opinions of our own,
with an aim of improving communication and interview skills as well as boosting
our confidence. Team Building and Clarity of Thought are other areas he touched
upon.
Overall, it was a very intriguing session and gave us a perception about the
corporate world which we are to be a part of tomorrow
