The Department of Zoology conducted an awareness programme on the topic ‘PCOS, Diabetes & Thyroid’ on 16th November, 2016 for the I, II, III DC & PG students. A thyroid and PCOS testing camp was conducted in which 297 people took part including teachers, students and public.
It was a full day event in which 3 talks were conducted by Dr .P Girish, Consultant Endocrinologist, Renai Medicity, Mr Sreeni S, Certified Diabetes Educator and Mr Biju Nirmal Peter, MPT, CMP (NZ). They spoke about the symptoms and causes of PCOS, diabetes and thyroid and how the growing problems of lifestyle diseases affecting the present generation can be effectively eliminated by a systematic change in the current lifestyle practices.
