On 13th September 2023, the Department of Economics and Centre for Research conducted a one-day workshop on IPR awareness which started at 10  am and ended at 3.30 pm. The event commenced with a warm welcome by IG Rathish, who set the tone for the proceedings. He introduced the program and its objective creating an atmosphere of anticipation. Following this Ms. Arathi Ashok took the stage to provide an insightful overview of copyright and trademark laws, shedding light on their significance and relevance in their modern world. Her presentation was informative and engaging.

Dr Kavitha Chalakal then took the audience on a journey into the realm of patents and industrial designs, offering a clear and concise introduction to these important aspects of intellectual property. Finally, Dr.Asha shared valuable insights into the patent filling procedure in India and the crucial step of prior art search. Her expertise illuminated the often complex process.
