Department of Botany in association with Bhoomitrasena Club and National Service Scheme Unit 41 conducted a seminar on ‘Organic Farming and Manuring’ on 20th July, 2023 (Thursday) at Platinum Jubilee Auditorium, Arts Block, 11 am. The Resource Person was Prof. Jacob Varghese Kunthara, Retd. Professor, Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara (Horticulture columnist and landscape consultant). The seminar was conducted as part of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in Organic Farming initiated by Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The aim was to provide students with valuable insights and techniques related to Organic Farming, promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Above 700 students participated in the seminar. The seminar served as an excellent platform for students and participants to learn and practice the benefits and importance of adopting organic farming methods. As a gesture of encouragement and support for the attendees, seed packets were distributed at the conclusion of the seminar. These seeds symbolize the beginning of their journey in implementing organic farming techniques and contributing to sustainable agriculture.
