This year’s onam was the first ever onam in the history of the department  which we celebrated virtually. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics celebrated Onam 2020 in the name of “E-Onam Nallonam“. Even though it was a virtual celebration we conducted it in a grand way. We released a video of our Onam celebration on 30th August 2020 (Uthradam) through our youtube channel.There were many competitions held as part of the Onam celebration . Also all the faculty and students wished everyone a very Happy Onam. The celebration was a huge success. The final video was released with the cultural programmes of various classes and with the result of the malayali manka .

Poochiri Punjiri

Students were asked to put a pookalam of their choice and click a selfie and send in the instagram account of the association. Best of them were given first second and third prizes.

Trollonam

Students were asked to create a troll video or photo regarding the Onam 2020  with their own ideas and post in the instagram account and prizes were given for the best.

Malayali Manka COMPETITIONS

Two students from each class participated for the competition.The competition was held in three stages First a self introduction was given by the participants and a ramp walk was shown, Second round was the talent round in which the participants were given chance to showcase their talents, third round was a question round in which each participant was given a question related to onam. Miss Martina Rajan of III DC Mathematics B batch grabbed the Malayali Manka Title.
