On the 21st of February 2018, The IVth Semester postgraduate students of the Department of English and Centre for Research organized a National Seminar on ‘The Politics of Food: Representations and Practices”. The Head of the Department, Dr. Beena Job welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was delivered by the Principal of the College Dr. Sajimol Augustine. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Ira Raja, Assistant Professor at the Delhi University. Dr. Tessy Anthony, Associate Professor of the Department of English felicitated the gathering, and the Keynote Lecture was delivered by Dr. Ira Raja on “Conspicuous Non-Consumption: Rethinking Agency in Contemporary Indian Fiction. The Plenary Sessions were by Dr. Jyothimol P (Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English of Baselius College, Kottayam) and Dr. B. Hariharan  (Professor, Institute of English, University of Kerala). Paper presentations by participants were also conducted.
