Department of Mathematics in association with the Kerala Mathematical association conducted a national seminar on analysis andalgebra on 6th and 7th of September 2018.The seminar was inaugurated by Dr.A. Sunny Kuriakose. The seminar was conducted as a part of the 70 th anniversary celebrations of the department. The seminar was co-sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment. Dr. A Sunny Kuriakose is the academic secretary of KMA .Rev.Sr.Christabelle former principal St.Teresa’s College Ernakulam delivered the presidential address. Dr Rev.Sr.Vinitha (Director St.Tereas’s College Ernakulam) and Dr. Sajimol Augustine (Principal, St.Teresa’s College Ernakulam) felicitated the gathering.99 participants registered for the same.

There were 8 technical sessions, 2 non-academic sessions and 1 session for paper presentations.

For Day 1 the invited speakers were Dr.GaddamSharat (Post-Doctoral Fellow, TIFR Centre for applicable mathematics IISc Bangalore) and Dr.AiyappanSrinivasan (Post-Doctoral fellow IISc Bangalore).They focused on Analysis and its Applications to differential equations. The talk started by 10-15am and ended by 3:30pm

The invited speaker for Day2 –Session 1 was Dr.Saranya G Nair (NBHM Post-Doctoral fellow ISI Bangalore).She focused on Esimates of Prime Counting Functions and its Applications.

The invited speaker for Session 2 and 3 was Dr. K S SMoosath (Head of department of mathematics IIST Trivandrum).He covered the topic Geometry and Analysis.

The Session 4 was handled by Dr.MKameswari (Asso.prof department of mathematics Thyagarajar College of Engineering Madurai). She talked on Applications of Analysis in day to day life.

3 paper presentations were included in Session 5.Dr.A Sunny Kuriakose chaired the session.
