On July 10, 2024, the department organized a motivational session for first-year undergraduate students to inspire them to achieve their academic and personal goals. The primary aim of the session was to enhance students’ motivation, boost their confidence, and provide them with practical strategies to overcome challenges. The keynote speaker for the event was Mr. Sujin Oommen Philip, Director of TOIR Business Solutions. Sujin is a dynamic and accomplished professional with expertise in finance and entrepreneurship. He has extensive experience motivating young minds and has authored several books on personal development and success. A highlight of the session was a group activity where each team performed a snippet of a song, with the best group being recognized for their creativity, precision, and performance. The session also included a series of motivational videos and stories, showcasing individuals who overcame significant obstacles to achieve success. These stories served as a source of inspiration and encouragement for the students.
The motivational session was a resounding success, achieving its goal of inspiring and motivating students. The department plans to organize similar sessions to continue supporting students toward success. The positive impact of such events on students’ academic performance and overall well-being underscores the importance of incorporating motivational activities into the educational curriculum.
The session had several lasting effects. Firstly, it enhanced students’ self-confidence, enabling them to express themselves more effectively in personal and professional settings. Secondly, students gained greater self-awareness, helping them identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Thirdly, the session fostered a growth mindset, encouraging students to embrace challenges and persist despite setbacks. Lastly, the motivational aspects inspired students to set and pursue ambitious goals, leading to a noticeable increase in their enthusiasm and commitment to academic and personal development.
