Kitab,  a book exhibition and book collection drive for setting up libraries in schools of flood hit rural areas was organized on 14th and 15th February 2019 by “ Beyond Self” the social service unit of  the department of Chemistry in association with  Library club of the  college and Goonj, an all India NGO.  Above four thousand books under various categories such as technical, academic, general, novels and primary books  were on display. Students of the college and of St. Teresa’s School  had the opportunity to own these books either free of cost or at nominal rates from the exhibition.

The first installment of books collected for the library reconstruction project of Goonj was handed over  the to the team member of GoonjKochi, Ms. Durga Mohanakrishnan by  the principal Dr. Sajimol Augustine and the Director, Dr. Sr. Vinitha.  Librarian of the college  Sr.Ashritha and  Dr. Geetha Andrews, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry were the co-ordinators of the programme. Dr. Annu Raju and  Smt. Mary Lincy were the co-ordinators.  Sr. Divina, faculty members of the department of chemistry were the organizing committee members.  Students of II DC chemistry volunteered to  set up the book exhibition. PG students of chemistry department and library club members were volunteers for the programme, which lasted for two days.
