Jaishree Misra is an Indian author whose debut novel Ancient Promises was published and sold worldwide by Penguin UK. The novel became a major bestseller in India and is a prescribed text for several  BA Eng Literature courses across Universities. She has a total of eight novels to her credit. Misra worked for several years in the Child Care Department of Social Services in Buckinghamshire and also as a film classifier at the British Board of Film Classification in London, England.
