The Department of Mathematics and Statistics successfully concluded the Inter-Departmental Statistics Quiz Competition on July 1, 2025, in commemoration of National Statistics Day and to honor the great Prof. P.C. Mahalanobis. The event saw strong engagement, with 38 students (19 teams) participating. Following preliminary rounds, the top four teams competed in a stimulating final round. We congratulate the winners: Arshia Anand and Mehnaaz Fathima (II B.Com. (Hons.)) secured the first prize, and A.M. Roja and Anagha Surendran (M.Sc. Applied Statistics and Data Analytics) won the second prize. The quiz achieved its goal of promoting the importance of statistics, encouraging teamwork, and celebrating intellectual talent across departments.
