The Zoology Association activities of the year 2011-2012 was inaugurated by Dr.A.K.Prema, Assistant Regional Director Consultant, IGNOU and Associate Professor (Retd.), The Cochin College, Ernakulam on 13th July 2011.

The Zoology department in St. Teresas was inaugurated in 1961 under the leadership of Late Mother Digna, who was the Principal of St.Teresas. The Department was headed by Rev.Sr. Carmelita who could make it a success. Zoology is the study of animals and their behaviors like their living conditions, requirements, food and many more other things. It also deals with the animal living environments, the animal adaption of environments, nutrition they need, animal genetics, characteristics, evolution, reproduction, development, physiology etc. The zoology department in St. Theresas also ensures the study of modern science too with this basic zoology;  like microbiology, bioinformatics, biotechnology, molecular biology etc.  This helps the students to go advanced with the world and latest technologies.

The zoology association in St.theresas is formed to help the students more.  The association promotes extracurricular activities in the students. The zoology association also organizes and conducts many useful activities like seminars, workshops, field trips etc.
