As part of their academic study tour, the II MTTM students visited the Sikh Gurudwara located at Perumanoor (Thevara) in Ernakulam, on 04.02.26.

The purpose of this visit was to understand the religious traditions, cultural practices, and spiritual significance of the Gurudwara. Study tours like this help tourism students gain practical knowledge about religious tourism and cultural diversity.

The students reached the Gurudwara around 12:00 PM. Before entering the prayer hall, they followed the customs practiced in the Gurudwara. They washed their hands and feet and covered their heads as a sign of respect. After entering the prayer hall, they observed the calm and peaceful environment where devotees were sitting quietly and praying.

While they were sitting in the prayer area, a person from the Gurudwara explained many details about their religion and spiritual practices. He spoke about their beliefs, traditions, and values, followed by the Sikh community. He also introduced the students to the sacred scripture of Sikhism, the Guru Granth Sahib, which is considered the most important holy text in their religion, and they entered the place where the sacred book has been kept.

The visit to the Sikh Gurudwara was a meaningful and educational experience. It helped the students understand the religious practices, traditions, and community values followed by the Sikh community. This study tour provided them with practical exposure to religious tourism and cultural diversity.
