The Fresher’s Day for the first-year students of the Department of Cyber Security and Applied Computing was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy on 19th July 2024. The event was meticulously planned and executed by the second-year students under the guidance of faculty members, aiming to welcome the new batch and help them feel at home in the department. The planning for the event started a month in advance. A dedicated committee, comprising faculty members and senior students, was formed to oversee the preparations. The event began with a warm welcome address by the Head of the Department, Archana Menon P. They emphasized the importance of this new phase in the students’ lives and encouraged them to actively participate in college activities.

The newcomers were suggested to come dressed as the iconic Malayalam movie comic characters. An interactive ice-breaking session was conducted, where students introduced themselves and shared their hobbies and interests. This activity helped in creating a friendly and open atmosphere. The cultural segment included various performances by senior students as well as first-year students. Interactive games and activities were organized to engage the freshers and encourage interaction among them. Finally, the department HoD Ms. Archana Menon P, announced the winners of the day for Best Costume, Best Performance, and Best Fresher. A variety of refreshments were served, allowing the students to mingle and network in a relaxed environment.

The Fresher’s Day event was a resounding success, filled with excitement, camaraderie, and vibrant activities. The newcomers were warmly welcomed with engaging ice-breaking sessions, creative performances, and inspiring speeches by senior students and faculty members. The event fostered a sense of belonging and eased the freshmen into the campus culture, helping them build new friendships and networks.
