The Department of Psychology conducted an International Webinar on Foundations of Research, led by Ms. Malavika Jaisankar, Academic Scholar at The University of Manchester and former faculty member of St. Teresa’s College. The webinar was designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the research process and to prepare them for conducting academic inquiries with clarity and confidence. During the session, Ms. Malavika discussed how students can begin their research journey by identifying a meaningful research topic, stressing the importance of aligning it with both academic relevance and personal interest. She explained how one can recognize a research gap by critically analyzing existing literature and identifying areas that remain underexplored. The session also covered how to conduct a thorough and structured literature review to support the research framework.
