A seminar on the topic “Finding Calm in Chaos: Strategies for Managing Stress and Prioritizing Mental Wellness” was organized on 19.02.2026 to create awareness among students about the importance of mental health and effective stress management techniques. The session aimed to help participants understand how to maintain emotional balance and well-being in the midst of academic and personal pressures.

The seminar was led by Ms. Aaliya Tariq, PG Student from the Department of Psychology, St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, who served as the resource person for the session. She delivered an engaging and insightful presentation focusing on the growing importance of mental wellness in today’s fast-paced environment.

During the seminar, the resource person discussed the common sources of stress faced by students, such as academic workload, expectations, time management issues, and personal challenges. She explained how prolonged stress can affect both mental and physical health, highlighting the need to recognize early signs of stress and burnout.

Ms. Aaliya also shared several practical strategies for managing stress effectively. These included techniques such as mindful breathing, maintaining a healthy routine, practicing self-care, setting realistic goals, and prioritizing tasks. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle that includes proper sleep, physical activity, and supportive social connections.
