As part of enduring commitment to environmental stewardship, the Department of Home Science observed International Plastic Bag Free Day on July 3rd, 2025, through a series of creative and educational events designed to inspire sustainable thinking and responsible action.

Quiz on Plastic Pollution
Students showcased their awareness and knowledge on plastic-related environmental issues through a lively quiz competition. Held in the III DC classroom at 12:45 PM, the event encouraged critical thinking about the pervasive challenge of plastic waste.

Eco-Bag Design Competition
Creativity met consciousness in this hands-on competition where students designed reusable eco-friendly bags using sustainable or upcycled materials. Entries ranged from hand-stitched pieces to artfully painted designs, each echoing the theme—“Say no to plastics, say yes to sustainability.”

Organized by the IInd PG RMID and the Home Science Association, this initiative offered a platform for students to explore everyday alternatives to plastic use and reaffirm the department’s mission of holistic, community-centered education.
