June 5 is observed as Environmental Day all around the world. It is an annual event that is held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. In association with this, the Department of Psychology at St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam organized an activity with the 3rd year B.Sc. Psychology students on June 6th, 2023.

The students were divided into four groups on the basis of different pollutions existing in the environment – Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Land Pollution, and Noise Pollution.

The Land Pollution team presented a small talk on land pollution and sang a song named ‘The Earth’.  The Water Pollution team carried out a mini-skit and dance in which the causes and threats of water pollution were beautifully presented. The Air Pollution team conducted a quiz program on the topic of air pollution. It was an informative activity that helped the other students to gain knowledge regarding the topic. Prizes were distributed to those who answered correctly. The  Noise Pollution group performed a skit about noise pollution and how it affects the environment.

The program helped the students to get an awareness of the current conditions of the environment. And how they can make it better for themselves. Their understanding of environmental pollution and how to reduce it was also enhanced.
