The Department of Economics and Centre for Research, the Planning Forum and the Electoral Literacy Club in collaboration with NSS Unit 41, and the District administration of Ernakulam, organized an election awareness program aimed at fostering participation in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. This program encompassed a voter registration drive and the election of the college SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) ambassador. The event sought to educate and engage students on the significance of voting and civic responsibility.

On 12th March 2024, the event commenced with the appointment of student polling officers and presiding officer for the SVEEP election. Mr Martin, Ms Ramya, and Ms Parvathi led this crucial aspect, ensuring the smooth conduct of the electoral process. Students were provided with comprehensive information regarding the election procedures and the pivotal role of voting in a democratic society. This preparatory phase was instrumental in acquainting participants with the electoral system and its importance in shaping the nation’s future.
