The Department of Psychology in collaboration with Teresian Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems organized an insightful session on “Eastern Approaches to Psychology”, led by Ms. Muskan Sarda, Teaching Assistant at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, Kalamassery. The session explored how mindfulness, meditation, and holistic healing practices rooted in Eastern philosophy contribute to psychological resilience and stress management. Ms. Sarda elaborated on Buddhist mindfulness, promoting present-moment awareness and acceptance, and Yogic psychology, which integrates principles of Hindu philosophy for health and wellness. She also demonstrated relaxation techniques applicable in daily life. The session effectively bridged Eastern and Western perspectives, offering participants a deeper and more holistic understanding of mental health, therapeutic practices, and the value of integrating traditional wisdom with modern psychology.
