St. Teresa’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam wins a major project proposal for health, developing novel nutri-products incorporating indigenous functional foods, and empowering women through technology transfer. The project titled, “Menarche to Menopause: Health, Nutrition and Metabolic Profile,” funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under Science and Technology for Women with a budget of Rs 42,14,874, has been officially sanctioned. This comprehensive study aims to identify health and nutrition-related issues affecting women in selected panchayats of Ernakulam district, Kerala. The project team, including Principal Investigator, Dr. Rashmi H Poojara and Co-Principal Investigators, Dr. Soumya P.S, Dr. Divya Raichu Jacob, Ms. Anna Aleena, and Ms. Sneha Merin, will focus on familiarizing women with digital technologies for Nutrition Health Education (NHE), developing novel nutri-products incorporating indigenous functional foods, and empowering women through technology transfer. The project’s ultimate goal is to facilitate the popularization and market launch of these products with support for licensing, quality control, branding, and marketing. The documentation and budget preparation was done by Dr. Elizabeth Reshma, Dr.Frincy Francis and Ms. Soumya K and supported by Rev. Sr. Dr. Vinitha , Dr .Sajimol Augustine, Dr Kala, Dr. Nirmala Padmanabhan and the IQAC team.
