Kochi – 27th July 2023 – B.VOC Software Development 3rd-year students from the Department of Computer Applications organized a special event called “Envisage 2K23” on 27th July 2023, to honor the legacy of the esteemed scientist and former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The program’s primary objective was to celebrate Dr. Kalam’s invaluable contributions to science, education, and national development, while also motivating the participants to follow his exemplary path and create a positive impact on society. The program commenced with an introduction speech delivered by Thresi Jose. It was followed by a captivating voice-over presentation by Indhu Joshy and Apsara B, who shared the inspiring life story of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The centerpiece of the event was a remarkable performance titled “Dreams in Flight: Remembering Dr. Kalam”, where the entire 3rd-year B.VOC Software Development student cohort participated in a mesmerizing combination of dance and role play. The program concluded with the National Anthem.

Additionally, a quiz competition took place at the Computer Applications lab in the Arts Block. The quiz was themed around the “Life & Story of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam” & “Technology and Innovation” and was expertly conducted by Ashwani M S. A total of 40 students from various departments participated. In the quiz competition, there were two rounds. The first round had 20 participants, and it focused on “Technology and Innovation”. The winners were Hosny Madhu from Sociology, who secured the first place, followed by Jerusha Sara Binu from Sociology in second place, and Sarah Saju from II BA Sociology in third place. In the second round, which was centered around the “life and story of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam”, there were 28 participants and all the participants demonstrated great enthusiasm. The first place was achieved by Jiya, Zalma, and Emil, while Fathima secured the second place, and the third place was shared by Krishan and Gouri. Throughout the event, the coordination and execution were skillfully managed by Anjali Binish, the Student Coordinator, and Ms. Harsha K M, the Faculty Coordinator, who ensured the smooth flow and success of the “Envisage 2K23” program.
